India wrapped up a comfortable victory over South Africa in the 3rd T20 International of the South Africa tour of India 2025, played at the picturesque Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala, on Sunday, December 14.
South Africa Struggle with the Bat
After winning the toss, India opted to bowl first, a decision that paid immediate dividends. South Africa failed to build momentum as wickets fell regularly. Aiden Markram was the lone bright spot with a fighting 61, while Donovan Ferreira chipped in with 20. The rest of the batting lineup struggled to handle India’s disciplined bowling attack.
India’s bowlers shared the spoils evenly. Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarthy, and Kuldeep Yadav claimed two wickets each, while Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube picked up one apiece to restrict South Africa to 117 runs.
India Seal the Chase with Ease
Chasing a modest target of 118, India reached the finish line in just 15.5 overs, losing a few wickets along the way. Abhishek Sharma led the charge with a fluent 35, supported by Shubman Gill (28). Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 26, anchoring the chase, while skipper Suryakumar Yadav added 12 and Shivam Dube stayed not out on 10.
For South Africa, Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jansen, and Corbin Bosch managed to pick up one wicket each, but the total was never enough to seriously threaten India.
