Wellington, October 31
New Zealand all-rounder Kristian Clarke has received his maiden call-up to the One-Day International (ODI) squad, stepping in for Matt Henry, who has been ruled out of the ongoing England series due to injury.

Henry suffered a left calf strain during the second ODI in Hamilton and has not recovered in time to feature in the series finale at Basin Reserve, Wellington, scheduled for Sunday, November 2. The pacer will return to Christchurch for further treatment.
Clarke, 24, has been in impressive form on the domestic circuit. Just a day before his selection, he scored his first List A century and took 3 for 57 in the Ford Trophy, playing a key role in Northern Districts’ victory over Central Stags.
A product of New Zealand’s youth system, Clarke first gained attention during the 2020 ICC Under-19 World Cup, where he showcased his all-round talent. Since then, he has become a regular across formats for Northern Districts and was part of the New Zealand A tour to Bangladesh earlier this year.
Clarke’s inclusion adds depth to New Zealand’s lineup as they look to finish the series on a high.
